Northgate HOA is a Common Interest Development community of 88 townhomes located in Contra Costa County just outside the Walnut Creek city boundary at the foot of Mt. Diablo State Park.  It’s a perfect blend of country and city living, with all the advantages of both.

 

We’re a community that loves nature, wildlife and the outdoors.  Deer, turkeys, hawks, owls, quail, and (if you're lucky) sometimes foxes are regular visitors. We hear frogs and owls in the summer evenings and coyotes on cold nights in the winter. At its inception, Northgate’s common areas were established as a conservation easement. The easement requires that the open areas behind and among the homes be retained in their historically natural and undeveloped condition, and cannot be developed except under special and specific circumstances. Our open space makes Northgate unique, and we love it.

 

Northgate High School is less than half a mile away; Walnut Acres Elementary and Foothill Middle Schools are a bike ride or 5-minute drive. These schools are highly regarded and among the best in California.

 

Northgate HOA is unique in that it has a resident equestrian facility with a 43-stall barn, three riding arenas, large turn-out areas, and direct access to miles of horse trails in the surrounding parks and open space. 

 

We also have a solar-heated swimming pool with areas for picnics, a clubhouse that is available for parties and events as well as our community meetings, and two recently resurfaced tennis courts.  We’re half a mile from the north entrance to Mount Diablo State Park, and are surrounded on three sides by open space, including Mount Diablo, Lime Ridge, Shell Ridge, and Walnut Creek  parks and recreation areas. 

 

The Orchards, Citrus Plaza and Encina Grande shopping plazas are a mile down Oak Grove, with restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, salons and other shops and services. We’re 10 minutes from Heather Farm Park and 15 minutes from downtown Walnut Creek with its regional destinations of outstanding shopping and restaurants, the Lesher Center for the Arts, and Broadway Plaza, to name just a few.
